JACINTA THE LITTLE BAKER|
I love making people happy with cupcakes. Because of my awesome friends and family I’ve been inspired to try so many different things over the years. I’ve made Storm Trooper cupcakes, Gin & Tonic cupcakes, cupcakes with surfboards on them and mathematic equations. I even made some cheeky ones with boobs and bums on them. We definitely had a laugh eating those!
I’ve made apple pie cupcakes, French toast maple and bacon, cookies and cream, chocolate stout, peanut butter and jelly for some American friends, salted caramel, white chocolate passionfruit, lemon meringue and the list goes on… I love all the flavours I do but mostly I love seeing the look on people’s faces when I show up with a tray of goodies that’s specific to them.
You know, there’s a lot to be said for health and good food, but when it comes to my cupcakes I’m not going to compromise on flavour. People know cupcakes are naughty, they’ve come looking for a treat and that’s exactly what I want to give them! And besides, they’re only little…
You can find my cupcakes at Albert and Nikola in town. I just love the banter I have with those guys every time I’m in there and supporting the locals is their bottom line. We have such a great community in Dunsborough and I love being a part of it. They’ve got to be my favourite café right, they stock my cakes!
Cupcakes for functions are also my specialty. I’ve baked for weddings, engagements, birthdays, kid’s parties, Pink Ribbon, baby showers and the Melbourne Cup event at Eagle Bay Brewing Co. I take all my orders through email or phone and love posting all my snaps on Instagram. It was created for food pictures, right?
In regards to other bakers I really dig Nigella Lawson. Her recipes are straightforward but always amazing and her sassiness and enthusiasm for food is ridiculous. You know what I mean if you’ve ever seen her show or read any of her books. I actually get a lot of great recipes from her.
Whether it’s pugs, cookie monsters, boats or pirates, cupcakes are meant to be fun!
