MODEL | Indiya Webb
HOMETOWN: Margaret River
Did you grow up in the south west?
I've spent most of my life in the South West and absolutely love it. It has such a raw, unique beauty that many people spend their lives searching for.
Tell us about your experience at the South West Fashion Festival...
My experience at the SWFF was fantastic. In the past I've done smaller catwalks, but never anything like this. I would definitely recommend any other aspiring models to do it next year. The fact you get to work with local designers and some of WA's biggest designers is extraordinary. I loved walking for the Darnell collection which is an internally acclaimed collection of vintage couture.
What other modelling work have you done?
I've done classes with CM Management and have just done my first photo shoot for Lulu and Vee. I've also done some catwalks for Echo clothing in Busselton.
If you could work for any designer or company, who would it be?
It would have to be Victoria Secret. Who wouldn't want to be a VS angel. I've always enjoyed watching their annual runway show and dreamed that one day I'd be walking for them.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty for me is not always what people see first. I believe beauty is confidence and confidence is beauty. If you are confident it shines through.
What's in your handbag?
Phone, iPod, chewing gum, Polaroid camera and sometimes a book
What would you like to be doing in 5 years?
I am looking at doing a teaching degree and would love to travel to countries in need and work with the children there. I would also like to pursue modelling.
