CORNERS ON KING
My mini-man (aka 14yo son) and I had a lunch date at Corners on King, Bunbury.
My son was sporting a post-training, teenage appetite and ordered hotcakes topped with fresh banana, drizzled with maple syrup & roast hazelnut crumb, plus a choc mint (crazy shake).
The pancakes were devoured in 5 minutes flat (good sign), medium serving was $18. The shake looked impressive but on attempting to drink it, he actually found it a bit of a challenge. Basically it was a chocolate milkshake with a Peppermint Crisp smashed to smithereens on to a wooden board, then drizzled with spearmint topping and topped with whipped cream. Perfect if you were in need of a sugar hit, but for nearly $15, definitely a treat.
I went for the chicken caesar salad - Traditional cos lettuce, bacon lardons, herb roasted chicken, parmesan cheese, croutons, and house made Caesar dressing topped with boiled egg - $22. It was tasty but the chicken was quite short on and the salad was mainly cos. My coffee was spot on - being one of my favourite brands, Toby's Estate. Fighting off a cold I ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice - $7.50.
Corners has a nice vibe and is in a great location, on the outskirts on Bunbury. Lots of tables, caters for children and I can't fault the service.
Corners is definitely worth another visit, we'll be back.
Nice location, easy (and free!) to park. All day breakfast. Great service.
Public Holiday Surcharge 15% (cripes) - Gluten Free Surcharge $1.5 per dish (huh?)
